Definition and Usage

The caption-side property specifies the placement of a table caption.

Default value: top

The caption-side property is supported in all major browsers.

Note: Internet Explorer 8 (and higher) supports the caption-side property if a !DOCTYPE is specified.

Value Description
top Puts the caption above the table. This is default
bottom Puts the caption below the table
inherit Specifies that the value of the caption-side property should be inherited from the parent element
